The Fall of Rome
Ironically, the fall of Rome started the way it began- under a ruler by the name of Romulus. The last emperor of Rome was Romulus Augustlus. He was replaced by a German prince, Odovacar, who won over the last of the Roman Army. He then marched towards Constantinople. After Rome's end, the empire went to using a monarchy system of kings and queens, which began the Middle Ages. Odvacar and the other future kings alike were not of Roman origin. They got their armies and power from descended immigrants of the Romans, such as the Anglo-Saxons or the Goths.
This take over not only lost the Roman empire, but made a huge conversion of government and culture. It converted to the Middle Ages and gradually lead to the Dark Ages. The government went from being one of the last empires to having monarchial systems, which in turn would each lead to its own demise.
