The first written record of the world, a cuneiform script, was from the 30th century B.C.E.. All time before this is almost completely unknown, and what little that we do know comes from found artifacts and cave drawings. Many historians believe that the Ancient World ended at the fall of the Roman Empire. If this is true, the Sumerians, Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, China, the Silk Road, and the Roman Empire all belong to the history of the Ancient World.
